I'm still thinking of buying the R5 mark II. Should I or should I wait? I BOUGHT IT!!!

If I was certain I was going to buy one I would jump on it right now, but still haven't tested it yet. Should be the week of the 21st
It may take some time before the prices go up. Stores will still have stock no doubt and only new shipments will be affected.

they are predicting snow on Monday!
That's bad... I hope they're wrong!

I have the R5ii set up for a 4/16 to 4/23 rental. $400 for the week.
That's just 11 days from now. Chances are that at the end of that week price will still be what it is now, if and when you decide to get one of course.

That is what I am hoping. AND I heard the R6iii will be delayed and if the tariffs are still in place it will be around $3,200!

Yes, and then the $3,999 looks a lot more attractive, doesn't it?

Yes it does! Also the mk iii being on hold by Canon the R6ii's should hold their value especially if prices go up and then if I can get $1,200 or $1,500 for it I would cut the cost of the R5 mk II quite a bit.
Now I am really having to think long and hard. The R6iii has really interested me but I have the feeling that there will not be any advantage of it over the R5ii other than potentially the high ISO performance due to the 24 mpx sensor, larger pixels perform better in low light.

I am sure I asked this before but how have you found the high ISO performance of the R5ii vs. the R6ii you had/have?

Talked to Hunts and they have plenty of R5ii's in the warehouse at $3,999.

Decisions decisions

I would just go ahead as you planned, testing the R5II first.

Would it possible to ask Hunts if they could hold one in reserve for you until you tested it out, for the $3,999 price?

I almost always work with one of their salesmen, Jerry, and he is off until Tuesday but I would think/hope he would do that for me.

As my grandfather used to say "it never hurts to ask as the worst they can say is NO"

Exactly. As we say here: you already have a "no" but you might get a "yes". Same thing. :D

They should hold one for me after all ever since I went to digital and my camera store a mile away closed about 20 years ago I have bought everything except a couple lenses from them, about 9 or 10 DSLRS, and probably 15 lenses.
