While I am thinking about the R5ii I still love the R6ii and am pushing it as far as I can.

Yesterday I decided to try the RF-S 18-150 lens on it to see what would happen, wasn't sure would it vignette it what size files would I get and so on.

I did not get any vignetting even at 18mm, the R6ii adjusts for it. File sizes CR3 Craw is 5mb, I am sure larger with full raw. Large Fine jpg 2.5mb

I did this test because I have the 18-150 for my R7 but indoors or in low light the R7 is not as good as the R6ii noise wise. I do have the RF24-105 non-L but I wanted to see what the R6ii would do with a RF-S lens. Here are the results, run through LR and Topaz Denoise.
It gives acceptable results and the APS-C lens factor of 28-240 is ok for a walkabout lens since I already have it.

Shots are through the window glass at 18mm and 150mm

So RF-S lenses can be mounted on full frame mirrorless bodies like the R6m2?

I seem to remember that that was impossible with Canon's EF-S lenses.

Shots look pretty good. In focus, sharp.

I assume it adjusts by automatically cropping the files?

It does

Yup with RF-S on DSLRs they will hit the mirror, but with mirrorless it works, I wasn't sure but took the chance, and it worked. The EF-S lenses will work due to the adapter needed on the R bodies

I went through a period where I experimented with vintage lenses on the Canon 5Dc. Some hit the mirror, others did not. But you could still use the lenses that hit the mirror if you used them a certain way so they wouldn't hit the mirror. I don't remember the specifics though, it's too long ago. But yeah, I remember that rather soft thump against the mirror.
