So I found the footage and uploaded it to YouTube. A coot fight. I'm not sure the resident bird defending its turf is the winner, because of how the other bird attacks him after the fight.

Of course it's shot from home and I'm on the third floor, so it's a balcony view.

Whoa, that looks really nasty! Where did they other one go? Did he drown?

Pretty much, yes. The R6m2 has excellent AF. I shot warblers in flight with it last summer (not using pre-capture mode on (I never used it)). The AF on the R5m2 may be slightly better, but at this point I can't be sure as I only took it out once for a stroll in the park.

I am thumping at the bit to go out but the weather is just too bad. It's close to 4pm now and the day just never fully began. Rain and wind and dark and just above zero are not conditions I want to go out in. The wind is less now. Down to a force 3. Looking at the forecast Thursday seems to be the day this weather breaks and we will have some sun again. Fingers crossed.
