There doesn't seem to be anyplace on here to put a whole travel experience. There are places for fragments - buildings, statues, cities, towns, types of transportation Icars, boats, trains) lighthouses, museums, parks, and various kinds of animals (farm, wild, zoos). But nothing for the whole travel experience. I would like to be able to put my various travel photos in one place .

For instance, I have been to Europe 11 times, and five of those times I have begun or ended or visited Amsterdam and other places in the Netherlands. I'd like to talk about my visits all in one place without having to separate out the statues, buildings, churches, hotels, food, boats etc. Like I did with my dad's photos of the trip west in 1948.

Is that something that I can do or would it disrupt the digital universe of FOP?

Nope, that wouldn't disrupt us in any way. So go right ahead, Rosalie.

Let's make it your thread and yours alone. The rest of us will just read, enjoy the images, like and comment.

Which makes me think. There is an add-on to the forum software, to make blogging more of a real blogging experience. I will look into that, see if it is something useful.

I found something that I think would be great. From a well known and reputable XenForo add-on developer. I have registered on his site and am awaiting administrator approval. As soon as I have it I will buy the add-on, install it and then we will see how it works. I hope to have it done today.

Maybe make a separate travel blog forum, so that anyone can post his travel blog? e.g. my experiences in Austria, a members trip to the Alps and so on... Each one sub-blog may contain several pages with photos, stories and discussions.

Yes I think it would be isolating if other people could not contribute and all they could do was 'like' stuff

Yes! That is what the add-on should do: give us a separate blogging section.

Oh, you won't be alone, Rosalie. This will be a separate section on the forum with a link "Blogs" in the top menu. And everybody can blog.

I'm still waiting on the developer. As most of the serious developers he only sells his add-ons to genuine XenForo license holders. So I had to send him my XenForo verification token and I'm now waiting to be given access to the his site where I can then purchase and download the add-on. But these people are crazy busy at the moment because of the recent XenForo software update that is still being rolled out and all the add-ons need to be updated.

I'm excited because I have been thinking about this for a long while. But you need bloggers to make it a success. So I'm very happy with this development.

Hopefully I can install the add-on today and then we will have to find out together how it works. It should be straightforward though.

I have just purchased and installed the blog add-on. There is already a tab to it in the top menu.

This add-on is separate from the XenForo software, just like Resources and the Gallery are. Although they are of course integrated.

The blog add-on has a ton of customisations, permissions, options, settings. So I ask that you are patient as I try to sort out what we need and also, very important, what you all need. The latter is especially important as I have no experience whatsoever with blogging, so I need you to think with me.

But first, let's explore this new thing on our forum.

I will also inform the rest of the community with a banner with a link to an announcement.
