Nebula Thread - post your images of Deep Sky Nebula's

I am a "ham radio operator" i.e. Amateur Radio, I am also a certified examiner for people wishing to get their license, you have to pass a test about electronic and radio theory. Once you pass you can use your radios to talk to the world. I have often talked to people in the Netherlands, most of Europe and especially Australia from my radio shack in the house.

So people still do this. Interesting how modern ways of communication hasn't made this go extinct. Is WX1USN your radio name?

I always wondered, when you reach somebody somewhere, somebody you don't know, what do you talk about? What do you say?
 
Usually talk about their radio gear and or the weather.

When cell phones and towers go down or are over worked ie too many trying to call in a disaster that is when ham radio shines

When areas of the United States were wiped out by hurricanes and fires all cell and internet service and even electricity was gone. Ham radio works on battery power and solar power and was the only way to communicate
