They look good, Patrick!

I was in Waterland yesterday but didn’t see any. They usually arrive a bit later there. Waarneming.nl show one or two here and there but the big bulk is yet to come in.

I had a great time with the godwits though. Hopefully I can post some shots later today.

It was just in one place but there were several. Godwits I saw this morning and more Sedge warblers so I've also got some processing to do(6000 shots, battery still >25%:oops;).

When you shoot like that, the battery seems endless. I was in Waterland for three hours and took 1135 shots. With the ones already taken on that battery (I keep a record now) one charge did 1445 shots. Pretty much what I am used to with these mirror-less cameras. I always shoot very controlled and then the battery doesn't last as long. Have said that, when I start shooting swallows, the battery will also last a lot longer as then the controlled shooting goes out the window!

Taken with the 800/11. I was shooting a Lapwing for which the 800mm was perfect when suddenly a small group of black-tailed godwits started to fly around and right in front of me too. The 800/11 didn't have a chance! I had one or two shots like this, but nothing good. Still, for me there is nothing more beautiful than seeing birds like these fly in the Dutch landscape. Small crop.

Looks like a good shot to me.

Thanks, David. I agree, it's a decent shot and I'm happy with it and a few others like it, because I do love the overall picture. It was just so hard locking focus with the 800/11. They were too close and too fast for that lens and I couldn't do it. So I missed shots because the wrong lens was mounted and that is frustrating and you're kicking yourself. :banghead:
