Nice, Mick. Especially the PIed Wagtail.

You know, these Pied wagtails look so much like our White wagtails. What's the difference, I wonder? How do you tell them apart?
 
So the yarrellii has more dark on the flanks. That would be something I could see in the field. Thanks, Jason!
Yes, though unfortunately those paintings over-emphasise the difference in the flank colours. White Wagtails do actually have grey flanks, but Pied Wagtails' always look darker grey. Personally I think the easiest way to tell them apart is the tone of the back. White Wagtail is always that clean, silvery grey, whereas a female Pied Wagtail is always darker
