I did try the EF 2x on the 100-400II but to slow and to much quality loss. Only got the RF 2x after I got the 400 2.8, not yet tried on the 100-500.

I was wondering. If the 2x would perform well on the RF 100-500 I might buy it too. But I fear I won't do as well as on your 400mm prime.

Yes! They often look dirty almost, don't they? Very nice capture though!

There is quite often a 2-300 strong starling flock in the vicinity at this time of year, today they spent some time in the hide field......
