Terrific shot!Resident female buzzard seeing off an interloping juvenile. Last week we had a large mob of 30 or so red kites hanging around the general area for most of the week and there were two or three juvenile buzzards mixed in with them.

Thank you Levina, yes 30! imagine a flock of 30 herring gulls over a farmers field but they're red kites instead. Much the same place in the ecosystem, the kites are much more interested in mobbing another bird that has something than making the effort to pick up something for themselves. So when a buzzard, or a magpie or crow, lands to grab a morsel all of a sudden 5 or more kites are diving at it and another couple will just swoop through and then occasionally one of the swoopers will pick up. Unfortunately they seem to be gone this week and we're back down to the usual 4 or 5 not showing much interest.30?!
Amazing, Sid. I seriously can’t imagine what it would be like to see these birds in such numbers.
