Wild Animals

An alligator walking. I have been told that they can run (for a short distance) as fast as 11 mph, and do 20 mph in the water

They can move as quickly as 35 mph on the land nut you are correct about their water speed.

See: https://tnaqua.org/animal/american-...American alligators, per hour, their top speed.

That's pretty darn fast. Not what one would expect from these animals. They look heavy and slow!
that's how they get you..
I was told by a park ranger that they could do 30 mph on land but I am not sure I believe it. Not that I am going to test it out.
I have also been told that they can jump their length out of the water.
