Weekend Task #3 - Portraits of Photographers at work - no selfies only of others - VOTING WEEK

Here are the results

For the Gold: Jeff with 20 points
For the Silver: Tacphotog with 12 points
For the Bronze: Rosalie with 11 points

Congratulations to all who submitted images!

They were all great images!

Since this is the second week that Jeff won the Silver award winner Tacphotog will pick the next category and will be contacted by Levina (throwing her under the bus LOL).

the thread is now open for comments.

my thoughts on the shots

1) a really compelling image, the photographer in the shot shows true emotion a sparkle in his eyes and the camera is beautiful
2) I like the group of photographers almost like a photo tour and the army guy with the reflector
3) Black and white really makes this picture pop and it is interesting seeing what the man holding the camera is seeing on the flippy screen

Wait, your #1 pick was your own image? You can't do that, can you?

#1 Jeff
#2 Rob
#3 BrotherConstant
#1 I loved Jeff's image. It's a really great portrait. The man is looking straight at us and it's like we get to know him, just looking at him.
#2 I love the birds and I love where the photographer is placed in the frame. I just like it.
#3 I like that it is all about the photographer and how focused he is on his subject, there is nothing else in the frame. And I like the grittiness.

Surely the #1 pick was what the voters decided, not Jeff?
Yes, of course, after tallying all the votes, Jeff's entry won.

But when I read Jeff's comment on how he himself voted (in post #33) I realised his #1 pick was his own entry. That surprised me. I mean, there's nothing in the rules that says you can't, but I've never seen it done before.

Yup nothing in the rules against it, the advantage of being able to choose the category if you have an image you really like. My vote was only 1 of 8 votes. Even if I didn't vote for myself it would still have won. But Levina should probably decide whether to keep the current rules or change them.

I don't shoot portraits, this was one of the very few that I did. I would guess I have done about 5 head and shoulders portraits.
Again nothing said you can't enter or vote for your own image. I might be a bit of a sea-lawyer.

It's all good, Jeff. I was just surprised is all. Your portrait was my #1 pick too. I think it's great.

Ok if I don't vote in the challenge here are the results followed by when I did vote

1) Jeff 17
2) 3 way tie Tacphotog, Brother, Rosalie 10
3) Levina 9

with me voting
