One of my first attempts taking a picture at night (2005)

I'd call that a successful attempt!

Almost night in Amsterdam.

I was testing the Samyang 14mm that I had just purchased. Great lens. And no idea how to use it.

This evening, sunset lines up on Xinyi rd in front of the 101 Building in Taipei, Taiwan.

Was driving, grabbed my phone at the stoplight.

there are a couple of images in the bridges thread.

its gone now, due to the shortsightedness of the yacht club (out of view in this photo) that wanted it down in part i think, out of spite.

Yeah, I remember seeing this bridge before, Dave. You said something about a bucket shaped counter balance, right? Although I remember it because of the zigzag shape when the bridge is open like this.

With the bridge gone, how do people get across now?

With the bridge gone, how do people get across now?

it was built for railroad use. the last time it was closed (down) was in the mid-70s. the rail line going north (to the left in this photo) was abandoned and torn up by the end of the 70s. to get across this river (not very wide) you just use on one 3 others west of where i took the photo from.

yes, it is all gone now except the concrete footings and the control house.
