While January is not a good time for wildflowers in southern Oklahoma, we can always count on Dandelions and Henbit.

Good question. How do you know if a flower is native?
Look up range maps for that particular species. How do you know if a flower is native?
"Native" is problematic, isn't it? There's a thread like that on the other forum and it caused some debate.Well, I took my own advice and looked at range maps for Henbit, I reckon I’m gonna have to retract my Henbit photos. Seems it’s an introduced species.
Funny you should mention Dandelions, Terry. I was thinking about the dandelion in your OP, wondering where exactly they would be native. i could be mistaken but I think they can be found around the globe?I’ll leave it, because actually native or not, they are naturalized in North America. Same as Dandelions, I always thought they were native, but turns out they are also an introduced species.
This app is very helpful in identifying plants and animals. Might give it a try.
I thought that was just for birds.Doesn't Obsidentify do wild flowers and plants also? I think it does.
It's an app from Waarneming.nl right and they cover more than just birds.I thought that was just for birds.

Would 'Flowers in the wild' be less controversial?"Native" is problematic, isn't it? There's a thread like that on the other forum and it caused some debate.
If "wild" here refers to flowers in the outdoors, as opposed to flowers indoors in a pot or vase, then I'm all for it.Would 'Flowers in the wild' be less controversial?
