Look Down - Post Your Photos

I'm hesitating posting this because this absolutely sucks compared to, well, just about every other shot in this thread. But it is looking down, so here we go.

Origen de las Carreteras Radiales or Origin of the Radial Roads. This slab marks the geographical center of Spain, the “kilómetro cero” point from which the radial network of Spanish roads are traditionally measured.

This relief by Bernini is located at St. Peter's Square in the Vatican. It's called West Ponente (West Wind) and is also known as Respiro di Dio (the breath of God). About three feet long, the relief has a simple face meant to resemble an angel. Bernini created a powerful gust of air coming from the mouth and sent it outward, away from the Vatican. Featured in the book and movie by Dan Brown, Angels and Demons.

Up until 20 years ago, I did quite a bit of climbing to get a viewpoint. On my first day in Paris in 1964, I climbed the tower of Notre Dame, and went up on top of the Arc de Triumph. I was trying to get up on the Eiffel Tower when I ran out of time (I had a train to catch). That roll of slides has been lost Later in the trip I climbed to the top of the observatory of Pena Palace. It was so windy that it blew my pocketbook away from my body
