It was an observation. When FoP got started a bit over a year ago, admin took steps to allow POTN thread starters to start the same threads in FoP. There was definitely status associated with being a mega thread starter.

Thread starters become boss of their threads. At least the practice at POTN was that they had say over whether posts in their threads were off topic.

Yep, it's true, for some people at least it was, for others not at all. But we did have to keep an eye on who started which thread and give the owners of threads on POTN ownership of those threads on the new forum too.

Thread starters do have something to say about their thread and if something is off-topic or not. It is their thread after all. They can be quite bossy.
