And yet, all the different grebes look like grebes, don't they?In the UK, the little grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis) used to be known as the dabchick. The NZ bird is a different species and seems endangered. Jack can say more. Lovely shot, though. North Island, l guess?
Ah, good job!Thanks, Levina. I thought the toe thing might garner a little attention, ha! I wish I could get out early, that was taken at 5:34 pm, about an hour before sunset and it's just my editing that makes it appear like morning.
