American kestrels are so much more colourful than their European cousins. I love the second in particular, Kirk.A recent shot of a local American kestrel taken with my Canon R7 and my older Tamron 150-600 DI VC USD f/5-6.5.
Thanks, Levina. Same here, the color is much better in the 2nd pic and the look over the shoulder I like better, too.American kestrels are so much more colourful than their European cousins. I love the second in particular, Kirk.
That's a very pretty one. I love a good shot with some habitat included.I spend an morning with this Sedge warbler this summer. This is right at sunrise. Gorgeous light. I didn't crop much because I like the setting so much.

Love it!
Thanks! It's funny but the longer I've been shooting birds the more I like habitat shots. As long as that habitat is pretty. Or what I think is pretty anyway (tastes differ of course). That's a very pretty one. I love a good shot with some habitat included.
That's just awesome, Ed. What a GREAT shot.
Good grief, man. How do you take a shot like that? I'd hang that on a wall.
Agreed, it has to look good or else it can ruin a picture. Thanks! It's funny but the longer I've been shooting birds the more I like habitat shots. As long as that habitat is pretty. Or what I think is pretty anyway (tastes differ of course).
Nice close-up, Ed.
