Here's a more recent shot taken with my new Canon RF 100-500 f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens. Normally, I like shots from the front better but when the back has markings like that, I don't mind a shot from behind.

American kestrels are so much more colourful than their European cousins. I love the second in particular, Kirk.

I spend an morning with this Sedge warbler this summer. This is right at sunrise. Gorgeous light. I didn't crop much because I like the setting so much.

Thanks! It's funny but the longer I've been shooting birds the more I like habitat shots. As long as that habitat is pretty. Or what I think is pretty anyway (tastes differ of course).

Thanks! It's funny but the longer I've been shooting birds the more I like habitat shots. As long as that habitat is pretty. Or what I think is pretty anyway (tastes differ of course).

Agreed, it has to look good or else it can ruin a picture.
