Being on the third floor (not counting ground floor), with the canal below and lots of bird stuff going on there, I feel your pain, Kirk. But shooting birds in flight from home is great though as I get to shoot them at angles you normally can't. Still...

Oh, I agree 100%. I often wish I had a cherry picker that could raise me up 30-40 feet so I can get level with birds in trees. I live in a 1 story house so I'm not quite as lucky as you when birds fly by. I only get the occasional turtle or alligator walking by. There's a pond in the back yard.

An alligator walking by?!

It happens occasionally. One got into my mom's swimming pool once, a small one about 5 ft. long. It's a common occurrence in Fl, they're everywhere. We see them as people elsewhere would see a feral cat and they are usually as scared of us as we are of them. We keep our distance, just the same.

Nice photo and angle on the bird, but was wondering about its leg... Is this a juvenile and does the leg. foot/ toe still need to develop or is it some deformation?
