I wonder if birds identify by genders also???Rifleman (or in this case more of a riflewoman; I wonder what the plural is. Riflemans, I suppose). This is a New Zealand endemic and very hard to photograph. They are smaller than Goldcrests, hyperactive, and live in forests where the light levels are low . I got lucky(ish) with this one. I never did get a really good one of a male.
