You could start with something very simple. I remember my very first animation was done, oh, over a decade ago. I drew it on the Mac. It was an egg, rotting. Or at least that was what I tried to do. Or start with a bouncing ball. I will go look for the egg and a bouncing ball I did on the iPad.
