Right. There's always a drawback to these things. I decided to buy a Canon too. I looked at a few others. Jan is using 3d party batteries, but I don't know the brand name and with batteries, I don't know... And Neewer has a battery that apparently replaces a whole swath of Canon batteries, for the R5m2, the R6m2, the R5. I don't know, I don't trust that. So I took a deep breath and just bought the Canon from Cameranu. They charge a better price than some of the other shops € 116.

We had some below zero temps but I don't think it was that bad. But I haven't been out much and I'm up north and in a city. Patrick and Jan will know.
The LP-E6P is backward compatible(through firmware update) so new 3th party suitable for R5II will be too.

Ground was lightly frozen for 1 or 2 days here but not long/hard enough to be a problem.

Lovely shot. I've yet to get even a half-decent one of this species and I despair of ever getting one since they're disappearing fast around here.
Hi Jack Dawe, Thank You.
Regarding Treecreepers I've more out of focus, miss-timed and empty tree trunks than any other bird although a close second is the long-tailed Tit. :banghead:

Mediterranean Flycatcher. This used to be just a race of Spotted Flycatcher; now we're told it's a full species. Ain't evolution magic? I gave up trying to replace the background with blue sky. I just don't have the skills. I think I'd probably clone out the tree trunk too.

Whoa. What an amazing sequence. The way the kestrel looks the owl in the eyes in the first two shots, it's like a face off. Great stuff, Sid.

Yes, I think this will do! :LOL:

Thanks very much John, I'm relieved that's deemed satisfactory ;haha;
Great action shots, Sid. Do you know what this was about?
Thanks Levina, there was a small rodent involved in the first place but they'd both lost it by the time of the first photo! :lolz:

At least you could have pretended it was challenging for you :ROFLMAO: :beer: , great series!

Haha, it's all pot luck, being in the right place at the right time, pointing and pressing is the straight forward bit! :lolz: Thanks Jan :)

Excellent shot, Mac. I have shots of them but these guys are sooo hard to get good shots of. You see them, you blink, they're gone. This is a really good one. :thumbsup:
Hi Levina, Thank You.
I was lucky to see it in the first place, today was so dull, although from what they're saying it's going to be Sun all the way tomorrow. YAY! happy day's. :)
