An unusual shot, especially since the bill is the most prominent trademark of the spoonbill ;-) It does show some wind, in the neck feathers, which I guess is the reason for them to turn their heads. Seems a more logical reason than the birds not willing to pose for you :D

Pretty pic, Mac. I love Long-tailed tits. They just never sit pretty for me like this. And they're usually high up in the trees.

I think this one was just digesting lunch, :LOL: you're right, they just never sit still, it's almost impossible to keep up with them.

I find them very difficult to get good shots of. There's usually a group of them and just like you say, they never sit still, always on the move. And then as you try to focus on one, he's gone and then you see there is one sitting in a perfect position and you didn't see it as you tried to focus on the one that just flew off. And by the time you point your lens to the one in the perfect position, he's gone too. But then when you do get a good shot of one, like you did here, it's like an accomplishment! :LOL:
