Is this dent in it's beak common in Black-tailed godwits? If not it's the same bird as in 2022(perched), flight shots from yesterday.

In all my years of shooting these birds I’ve never seen this so I don’t think it’s normal.

That's good news, isn't it? It means that the dent is no obstacle, that he can live with it. Although that bill will no doubt be more vulnerable as it's rather thin at the dent.

Indeed, seems a healthy bird and 3 years in between. Always good if they can make it back here but usually I'm not able to recognise birds individually. Except this ringed Spoonbill, seen this several times and after reporting it I've received a history of sightings several pages long, including from the south of Europe.

Hi Levina, Thank You. Same here it's the Song Thrushes that out number the Mistle Thrush.

Very nice. We don't see many of these where I live and when you do you can never get very close.
