Wild Birds of Europe

Thanks Levina, it's always a job to pick one out of a sequence, when the camera gets it right (ahem, me!) and there are 40 or 50 all in focus :lolz:
Yeah, weird, isn't it. I mean, it's not that long ago when the pick was often dictated by the ones that were in good focus. But now... everything is! :p:LOL:

Great shot of the Red Kite and I also love the Bullfinch and the Robin.

I had to go for a scan to Amsterdam-Noord and brought my gear with me. I walked for a long while, all along the Noordhollands kanaal (a canal). But light was horrible as it was sunny and this was just after noon. Terribly harsh light. And cormorants mostly. Here are two.

I surprised this one as he was fishing.

And there were groups in flight. Here's one from such a group.

The first one is especially good. Midday sun can be horrible, but it doesn't show here.

Oh we're a fickle lot, us photographers, it's been dark and gloomy for the last 6 months to much complaint and now at last the sun comes out.....but it's too bright! :yikes:;haha;

We are, aren't we?! It's like farmers: it's either too dry, too wet, or too something else. It's never quite right. You would think I'd be happy with today's sun... :oops; Actually I was, it was just bad for shooting birds. At noon! :banghead:
