I remember it was explained once on POTN but all I remember is that it seemed cumbersome as you had to recalibrate the thing every time? Something like that, anyway.

But it is flimsy, every time you mount it or bump it, it needs calibrating. If the up/down angle is not exact for the distance you're to high/low.
