Oh wow. I had not expected that. Thank you, voters! And congratulations to the other winners. I thought it was a particularly strong field this week with excellent entries.

Thank you Jan, for hosting and for picking a great theme!

I need to think a moment about the next theme. I’ll be back shortly!

I confess I was swayed by photos which had a title like "Fierce conditions" or "Fierce Expression" I would have voted for the preying mantis but I suppose that was only to show what the little lizard had grabbed. I thought the dog in the supermarket looked more anxious than fierce, and I just loved the little duckling.

1. Jeff
2. Rosalie (greatgrandma)
3. Jason (Jack Dawe)
I picked Jeff as my #1 because his image depicted fierce like no other image did. I loved the B&W rendering too as it enhanced the drama.
Rosalie's concentrated cat also showed fierceness.
The third place went to Jason's image because an animal caught in the jaws of another, that too is fierce.

But after picking Jeff as my #1 it was terribly difficult. All images I thought were great but with some I kinda needed to be told the theme was fierce. And I wanted to see it in the image itself. So that explains my choices.

We are getting more followers on BlueSky now. And more likes, some reposts. Plus after posting the new theme, it has brought visitors over to our forum, following the link. And bots too that are specifically looking at the Competitions area and the new challenge Film Noir especially. It's early days of course and it will take time but posting there does make us more visible to the kind of people we are hoping to reach.
