Weekend Task #12 - Kids will be Kids

Congratulations to the winners.

If the rules had allowed, I would have posted some of my great-grandchildren (not my shot)

I thought of this challenge as one for which we were to show young children unencumbered by rules or worries.

{It is a phrase sometimes used by old people such as myself to wonder why children can't just play in the street or woods like we did. And maybe that they don't need all the supervision or safety equipment mandated now like bike helmets. It is also sometimes used by people who are in denial about addressing hard subjects with children to say that kids should just be kids. Ignoring that fact the children know if something is wrong and will worry more if the situation is not discussed. I don't agree with either of those points of view.}

My own submission was defective in that it showed my daughter without a helmet, and it was also not a very good picture because you couldn't see the black pony very well and I couldn't tell the viewer in the title that the girls were just riding together in the ring at my sister-in-law's stable and not in a real race.

I picked the photos first on the basis of whether it was a good photograph. And after that on whether I could see that the children were young, and were having a good time, which meant that I needed to see their faces.
