Weekend Task #11 - It's a-peeling!

I tallied the votes and the results are:

#1 Jeff with 11 points
#2 Levina with 10 points
#3 Jason (Jack Dawe) with 7 points

Congratulations to Jeff and Jason!!
And honourable mention to everyone else from me for what you all did with the theme.

And what a GREAT week this has been. So many images! Thank you all for your contributions.

Take it away, Jeff!

#1 Martin
#2 Jeff
#3 Jason
Martin (Stiga) is my #1 choice because he is the only one who went by ear. And his shot is appealing. I love those lampposts and I love the image. And I just love that he listened to the theme and realised this too was an interpretation.

Jeff's image was also quite unique. I don't know if "peeling" is a term in surfing, but it's irrelevant; I can see the peeling off of the wave. I thought it was imaginative and a nice, different interpretation of the theme.

Jason's image for me was the best of the more literal interpretations: peeling. I think it's a very good shot and well executed.

Voting was hard though, as it always is.

I was busy typing a response to Levina on the R5ii thread a real novel as it were and just went to vote and it was closed. I would have voted for Jack.

All very interesting images

I voted for Jan's shot because, although I couldn't work out what it was, it was so creative. I'm glad of the subsequent explanation.

I loved Levina's onion for its narrow depth of field, the way the white of the onion blended into the white background and the soft reflections.

The third choice was difficult, but I chose Rosalie's photo because it was a nice shot of some actual peel.

I'm sure the fault is mine, but I'm afraid I couldn't understand the relevance of Martin's shot, unless it was interpreted as appealing (which it was) rather than a-peeling, but I was troubled by some apparent processing artefacts in the blue.

It was an experimental photo of M&M's in water, resulting in the sugar coating dissolving/ detaching.

To get a better impression, you can see some more shots on my smugmug: https://jankaper.smugmug.com/Macro-Close-up-Abstract/A20210123-M-M-s-in-water
Ah, so that is what it was. I thought it was a fascinating shot but had no idea what I was looking at. In my mind it registered as an abstract or macro and that wasn't the theme. Looking at the other shots on Smugmug I think if you'd chosen a less abstract one, it might have done very well. Some of those shots are really nice.

Well the "abstract or macro" was a proper registration as well ;) . I didn't really have a photo for the WET in mind and was thinking of doing some fruit macro with a peel coming off, but did not find the time for it. The photo I posted came across somewhere and triggered me to use it for the WET. When posting the link to my smugmug for the clarification, it crossed my mind that I might better have looked at the album first, before submitting the photo I submitted.
