APPARENTLY, these shots are a violation of copyright law.

as ive read in Fauxbook, the Eiffel Tower, being over 50yr old is free game to photograph. the LIGHTS though, as 'part of the art' that is the Eiffel Tower, are less than 50yr old and therefore are protected under international copyright law.

not that i have any intention of anyone actually WANTING to buy either of these or the other dozen images i have lol

There's an interesting point. I'd like to see that tested in a court, but I could conceive how there might be such an argument. If it's illegal to photocopy a musical score that's still under copyright (which it is), then I suppose photographing an artistic light arrangement could in theory be regarded as exactly equivalent. Both the score and the lighting are creative acts. IANAL though. A topic for elsewhere, perhaps!

I never treat anything on Farcebook, or Xcrement, or any similar site as gospel, but, just occasionally, someone does know what they are talking about. IN a case like this, though, I'd wait to see if someone sues me!
