Post Your Cats

Oh, he's expanding his outreach today!!

Jaspers's been out for a lot of today while I've been home and my wife has gone to Detroit
for funerary services for her family.

Jasper's been exploring everything he can, and has been demanding attention instead of
asking. He's been out most of today while exploring, and talking to me with his chirping
voice, almost continuously seeking attention.

He seems to understand that he'll no longer be bullied by the cat he was with,
and he's really opening up to being here with us. I think he's even taking to the name
we've given him, in spite of the two years of age proposed by the shelter we adopted from.

He's becoming the adorable and cuddle-loving cat we've hoped to have for a long time,
and settling into the role with great aplomb.

He's been exploring a lot, while often settling into looking out the sliding glass door,
as well as taking up a perch in the bedroom's window seat. He's taken to wandering around,
exploring and talking to us frequently. He vocalizes with us by chirping. He's adorable,
and we're loving having him with us.

He took over my couch armrest today, impulsively.
I decided he couldn't take over completely, so I arranged an under-table situation for him.

He's gonna be just fine with us, and we love having him here with us.
If he's settling in that fast everything will be alright very soon. We've had to wait 10 years before a(feral, black) cat came on my lap. (he was found around 4 months of age with a severe, infected fracture, had to amputate his front leg, couldn't go back so he stayed with us)

Bad experiences at a young age will probably do that, right? Cats and dogs are no different from people, I reckon.

I'm sure they will. Thanks, the shelter thinks so too, I've been published!(front-page, intro and throughout a magazine they've made, explaining what they do and how you van adopt etc.)

Depends on the cat and how long they are already there. These just thought that strange man with big lens a bit frightening.
This is one just in(and maybe feral)

Yes, bad(or no) experience at a young age means not socialised during the most important time.

That's so great. Congratulations!
Smart people at the shelter. If anything can help find new homes for those cats, it's your photographs of them. They really are good.

Yeah, ears folded back, trying to hide in the crate. He looks very much on his guard. Not like a house cat.

Not unlike with us, people. Bad things done to children are imprinted and it will affect them for life.
