Is there an easy way to remove the hot shoe cover from the R5m2?!! 😤 🤬

Any tips on how to remove the hot shoe cover without nearly breaking a finger?
It's like that thing is glued on for all eternity! :banghead:

I got it off in the end, but don't ask how!
Are there any 3d party covers that I could replace it with maybe?

Anything?
 
Haven't searched for it. I only removed my hot shoe cover once, just to try after I read on several places on the internet what a burden it was to get the cover off. And I definitely have to admit that it is/ was a burden indeed :banghead: It should loosen up a bit if I read on some fora. I don't use flash often, so if I do I plan for it and it is in the back of my mind to check on removing/ removing the cover in time.
 
I saw a review of the camera once where they said they never succeeded in getting the cover off. Funny thing is that the first time I had to get it off, I had little trouble, but yesterday it took ages and a lot of force!
