Nice shots. Also an example that a camera like the 5d IV is versatile and can do sports as well (i have shot rugby with the 5D iii sometimes, but did prefer my 1Dx ii for sports).

Did you shoot RAW? I'm just curious how the last photo would cleanup with noise reduction that is now available. But the shot is nice even with this amount of noise. Sometimes grain can add to a sports photo.

RAW all the time.

super heavy crop on this too, im sure.

i tried some of the AI noise reduction in LrC and it was projecting nearly half an hour (if i recall. it was like 6 months ago) and so since i sell almost ZERO prints, at this point, dont much care. it DOES kind of remind me of shooting Tri-X and pushing it to 1600. although these might have topped out at 12,5?? on the 'Auto-ISO'...

i sometimes think i get better images with the 5DIII. i go back and forth between the two. one has the 70-200 f2.8, one had the 300 f2.8

In theory the 5D iii might have the advantage of lesser pixels on the sensor, kind like the R6 series might look better at high ISO than the R5 series. (Not going into the loophole on ISO comparisons, resizing for fair comparisons etcetera). Never shot the 5D iv, but once I got the 5D iii I often preferred to use that over my 7D ii at the time. It was a really good camera, but I sold it to fund a R5 and knew I would not use it if I had a R5 available. The crop on the 45 MP just gives some shots that are usuable for my audience from the other side of a rugby pitch.
