For some reason the other forum never showed on DuckDuckGo. I once asked the XenForo community about it but I never found out why.
In retrospect I think it was a big mistake to add "forum" to the other forum's name. The full name is: Focus on Photography Forum > xxxxx-on-xxxxxxxxxxx-forum.net . It was done because some people in the founders group were afraid of copyright infringement. Because there were other photography related platforms around with that name and there were concerns we would be sued. But the name is used all over the place, for forums, blogs, on- and offline clubs, Facebook groups, YouTube channels, magazines, books, tv programs, all called Focus on Photography. And why not, it is a good name for a photography related platform. But that is why "forum" was added to the name to prevent possible future problems. I think that is now biting the other forum in the behind while this forum has an edge in search machines because we really are Focus on Photography. You could argue that they aren't FoP at all. We are. And they are FoPF.

Yes, that was it! But in retrospect that was nonsense because the name is in use around the world on hundreds and possibly thousands of platforms and absolutely nobody can claim it's theirs.

Search term: focus on photography
On DuckDuckGo we now take the #1 #2 and #3 position.
On Google we are steady at #2 on page 1.
We're not there yet when googling "photography forums" but that really takes time.
However, I tried googling a few terms, thread titles, article titles or parts of them, a name, and was happily surprised...
