I don't recall ever seeing one before so thanks for sharing, Jack. The first thing that came to mind when looking at their patchy pattern is 'quilt.'

Thanks, both. This was one of a pair I found in what was then called Port Elizabeth in South Africa. They seemed to be tolerably common.

It was a glorious day today here in the kingdom lolz, cold and sunny and no wind. So I went for a stroll in the park, something I hadn't done in quite a while. Not much to shoot. This magpie landed nearby on a branch and stayed there for a while, shaking himself.
