White Storks were gone here too a few decades ago and a breeding program was started to bring them back and it was very successful so the storks are back in full force. The same thing happened in other parts of Europe. Hopefully that will happen in the UK too!

According to the article its looking positive for a country wide reintroduction here, There are plenty of nesting sites in the north where I live with lots of unused industrial chimney stacks available for them .
