According to Canon Rumors, the Canon R6 mark III is "definitely" coming in the first quarter of 2025.

Canon Rumors was told that the Canon EOS R6 Mark III is “definitely” coming in Q1 of 2025. The obvious moment would be during CP+, the biggest camera and imaging show in the world, organised by CIPA, the Camera & Imaging Products Association – the body that certifies things like the number of shots you get from a single battery charge, or the number of stops of compensation on image stabilization. In 2025 CP+ takes place from February 27th until March 2nd in Yokohama, Japan.

CR expects the R6 mark III to get a CFexpress card slot and will have something new with Bluetooth control, though there aren't any specifics yet.

CR also expect the announcement of at least two lenses, although they don't reveal which lenses that would be as the level of uncertainty is yet too high. They say "Specification wise, all we have heard have come from sources with spotty records, one directly sent to us and another from Weibo. Specifications reported that far ahead of announcement are to be taken with the proverbial grain of salt."

So noted.

As you know I have the R6ii and am using it more than my R7 or any of my other cameras.

I have been following all the rumors on the Specs and have been trying to decide do I really need it or should I wait for the R7 mk II but that may not come out this year at all or at the very least.
For the shooting I do I really don't need an upgrade like I didn't need to get the R5 or R5II. At the same time the CF express and better low level shooting read that high ISO really interests me as for BIF you want high speeds and end up with high ISO's.

When the R7ii comes out I will be buying it but for now it is about the R6iii. I sold a bunch of my gun collection and so the cost of it is not the issue at this time, it is do I need it.

Need it, probably not, want it, YES.

What could affect getting the R7ii is if they come out with an RF 100-500 II that can use the extenders over the entire length.

I will be interested in hear about others thoughts on the R6iii especially if you already have the R6ii

Hi Jeff!

Yeah, I'm in pretty much the same position. I have the R6II. I don't need the mark III. I would jump on a R7II though. But when is that coming?

The RF 100-500 II? Would that be the rumoured RF 100-500 internal zoom with faster glass?
