Butterflies & Moths - Macro!

Some from last year to start(Buff ermine, Red admiral, Box tree moth, Brimstone moth and Light emerald)

First time I've been stared at by a moth! Cracking shot that.

That third moth has pretty wings. They look like they're made of that thin, crackling paper.

Did you shoot these in the wild?

What always amazes me with insects is how hairy some of them are. Great shots.

Pollinators especially, I reckon, for obvious reasons.

Never been to one of them. There are more moths than you'd think, try it with a daylight lamp and a white sheet, even works on a balcony(if there's enough green in the neighbourhood).

I honestly had no idea. I see one of those brown "huis-tuin en keuken" (plain, run of the mill) variant moths sometimes, but that's it.

That's what I also saw until one hour with the lamp in the dark showed these.
