1939 - 1940 Four transits through New York City and a Visit to the World's Fair

This entry is in the series New York City - Waypoint, Day Trip, or Destination
I was born in November 1937. My first Pass through New York was in 1939, when my parents drove through NYC up to Woods Hole to spend the summer, and then drove back. I was almost 2

In the fall of 1939 my parents left me with my grandparents and visited the World's Fair in New York.

In 1940, my dad was on a sabbatical year at Yale. My dad found a house, in New Haven to rent. My grandmother helped my mother move, and my mother went by train from Baltimore to New Haven with me about 2.5 years old and my two month old sister.

Comments

I wanted to use it in another post so I switched it. When I started doing blogs (and when I started posting on Virtual Tourist) I found that I didn't do everything quite right. I needed to edit. I'm decided that most of the New York stuff - except for actual visits or something with some photos needs to be in other places rather than just driving through NY. Can you delete your comment? Or switch it to the one that I am going to put it on which is currently in draft
