What happened to me today!

Well, here's two I made earlier (there was a children's TV program in the UK where "here's one I made earlier" was a catchphrase)

We've used them for years for our Christmas puddings. They also make puddings in other flavours (orange and cointreau, Pymms, lemon) and a lighter variety of sponge puddings. As the non sponge ones last for over a year, we stock up in Bath.

got some semi-heavy plastic sheets with grommets around the edges (think simple tarps but clear) and hung them up around the exposed sides of my rear porch/deck.

its still open on the east side and above the south side (tall roof with a Queen post truss) but the snow usually comes from the west and so this will keep the deck relatively clear of snow. maybe block a LITTLE bit of the wind too so i can still grill on the well, the grill...

Jette and i had talked about enclosing it and making it a 3-season room but the local busy-bodies who ratted me out to the home owners association, im SURE would have a cow, if i were to do anymore work to it. other than to grill though, i have no desire to even go out there though. i had it rebuilt and roof put on for Jette, so she could sit out there even if there was a light rain and not get drenched...

had to send the photo to my email, then download it, then find where it got saved to, before i could edit the post and share the photo...

yeah i know..... be better prepared;haha;

All my homemade handgun holsters were stored in my outside barn, didn’t think about humidity they all had mold growing on the leather. So I made a couple more the last couple of days. The long one is for my 1860 Army, and also my 1851 Navy. ( un holstered).
Other one fits my SAA .44-40 and SAA .357 mag. The .44-40 is still in the holster, it’s wrapped in plastic wrap while the wet formed leather is drying.

Then I treated myself to some cheddar cheese popcorn.

Nice work on the holsters, Terry. I’ve never had cheese popcorn, but I think I would like it a lot!

Currently in a Travelodge bedroom in Bath. The Bath Waterside - it wasn't always a Travelodge, and we stayed here several times before it changed. It has the cheapest parking in Bath (as a Yorkshireman cheap is good :) ), is about 5 mins walk from the centre, and is situated at the end of the Kennet and Avon canal with the canal running by the hotel. Our room has a view over the canal, and when we arrived we saw and photographed a heron on the hotel roof. So, today I did some bird photography. On a previous visit, we had a kingfisher about a foot away from us outside the window while having breakfast.

We've been round the market, but photos will have to wait until we get home and I extract them from the camera and resize. I did make a point of using the camera on the tablet for one though, as I thought it very suitable for here.

... except I'm having problems. Will post and try to edit it in,

Pic is here and looking good too. Looks like a fun place. Not to say colourful!

It seems to be flaky WiFi - more lofi - here. Not a problem with FOP. If it doesn't settle down, I may leave further responses until we get home.

It does seem that I have a few possible entries for the next WET though.

It seems to drop every couple of minutes, and then reconnect. Basically not really feasible to start anything lengthy, like a major post of more than two sentences :( . I'll return properly when I have a better connection, which most likely means late tomorrow when we get home. I'll have some photos of bath time then (lower case deliberate).

well no photo but the plastic (not heavy gauge) ripped out of most of the border material that has the grommets in it. all just flapping in the wind.

dang it....

i tried to put some simple tape from one side of the plastic, around the border, and back to the plastic on the other side but its too cold for the duck tape to stick....

double dang it...

It's just plastic so it can't withstand too much wind I reckon. Bummer.

What is happening right now is that I'm having connection problems. Apparently it's just me. It only happens on XenForo Cloud based websites by the way. Everything else is fine. XenForo told me they are working on their threat detection methods and that my IP address was probably banned in the process. They're looking into it.

Damn, and I thought my illegal activities were really well hidden! :ppwall:

Connection with a VPN also goes on and off. I tried to post an image just now and all I got was the "Page could not be loaded" message. Right... :banghead:;gripe;

Today it's cold. Was 5°F this morning when I took the garbage to the curb in just a t-shirt (yes I was wearing pants and shoes). It's always good to let the neighbors now you're a bit crazy. It's warmed up to 20°F currently.
