Weekend Task #41 - Crawly

Rob won't be here for a while (different time zones), but we're past the voting deadline now, so I'm closing it. No more voting please.

Thanks Levina - results up soon.
At this time of year we are GMT -3.5 hours (= 8:30 am here) and I am usually to bed late - up late. o_O

And the tally is complete; the winners are

First, with 18 points - PCS
Second, with 14 - Jan
Third, with 11 - Terry

Congrats to the winners and thanks for the pics and the voting!

Congratulations to Patrick (pcs)!
And congratulations to Jan and Terry too.

#1 Patrick (pcs)
#2 Terry
#3 Jeff
I thought Patrick's shot was the best this week. Terry came in a close second. And I picked Jeff's shot as my #3 because it was the only non-animal shot. I liked that.

I didn't have any crawlers and wasn't going to contribute but in the end decided to sort of put two pics together, resulting in a less than stellar image. Thank you to those who voted for it!

My entry (which I think I can discuss now) was an effort to make sure that everyone knew it was edited. I attempted to superimpose a photo I had of a spider into a photo of a spider web decoration in a restaurant. I didn't do a very good job, and should have gone and started over.

I placed Terry's scorpion first because it looked really scary.
Rob's spider was fairly scary too and it's eyes were nicely detailed.
I placed Levina third simply because I liked the pic.

I liked all the entries in one way or another, although I couldn't work out what Rosalie's was and so it didn't seem to me to qualify. Now it's explained I understand.

I adored Jeff's photo. Had the kid's face been in focus it would certainly have been in my top three - but I know how fast kids can crawl once they get going, so I appreciate the difficulty.

Neither did I with the pollinators on the flower. I had a small series of photos of the flower, each with different bugs, but from different angles and I needed to blend a few to get the whole flower in the frame and to get enough bugs in. And WB was also off. It was all very green.

To me the photos of Patrick and Terry typically showed a crawly creature that I would expect given the theme and therefore were my #1 and #2. I gave the edge to Patrick, since his photo was just a bit better from a technical perspective. I added Jeff to third place, like Levina, because it was another viewpoint of the theme, but fitted the theme.
The photo of Rosalie was totally unclear for me, which I now better understand given her post on what she did to it. Levina's photo just suited the theme less than the other photos (in my opinion). I did not looked into it very detailed, just viewed it scrolling though the thread, so I did not notice it was heavily post-processed.

For me a winner for Crawliest would have been a tick. I thought the ant and the scorpion were the crawliest, but it looked like the scorpion was upside down or something. I couldn't see where the head was.

I liked the photos of the snake (which I thought at first was a newt) and the bees the best. But neither snakes nor bees are skin crawly for me. I thought the snake was really cute and totally gorgeous. I really love that photo.

I think you refer to my photo when you mention the "snake". I can understand it looks like it on the photo I posted, but it actually is a lizard ;) . Here is another photo where is a lizard is on the wall, rather than in a crack within the wall.

Yes it was your photo - I should have said reptile rather than snake. A snake wouldn't crawl because it has no legs. It wasn't until I looked closely that I realized it had a scaly skin and therefore wasn't an amphibian.
