Weekend Task #36: Negative Space.

#1 Terry
#2 Jason
#3 Dave
My votes.

I had a hard time voting because I thought some were not about negative space at all. Even my own image, although literally showing negative space, I'm not sure it's what Ed had in mind with the theme. I'm guessing not.

I thought Terry's image was the best all around. I like the image in and of itself and it fit the theme very nicely.
Jason's (Jack Dawe) image also fit the theme but was maybe a bit too minimalistic, so I put it second.
Dave's (Ltdave) image I thought was nice. I'm not sure about the negative space exactly but it does seem to fit the theme.

The other entries, well, EdC's elephant in the fog is just that, an elephant hardly visible because of the thick fog. That was not negative space in my opinion.
I also liked Jan's contribution. But again, I don't think it fit the theme.
Rob's and Rosalie's images did fit the theme I thought but I liked Terry's, Jason's and Dave's images better.

We had Negative Space on POTN once too. It was for the Digital Speed Challenge and I won that time with this image (Tom Reichner was host), which is why I didn't enter it this time around. Also because I think everybody has seen it so then it gets boring. I know I'm bored with it. But just to show you. The idea behind it was to literally paint in negative space. To erase space if you like. Stupid. But, I did photograph the Orion nebula myself (with a Skywatcher telescope) and then took a shot of myself with a regular 50mm lens (with the camera on the floor so I look a bit distorted I think ) and then took both images to Photoshop.
