Weekend Task #19 - Poker Hand

Cards on the table:

Levina takes the pot with threes over sixes (15 points)
GG'Ma Rosalie, second with a pair of zebras (11 points)
and Ed, a close third with one powerful Flush (10 points)

Congrats to the winners and thanks, all, for playing!

Levina - your deal.

Thanks very much, Rob. Also for hosting. I thought it was a really great theme.

Congratulations to Rosalie and Ed!

I'll have a new challenge up in a bit.

I was going to post a photo with two ewes and three lambs which would be (a full house), but I used that photo before. I had one with three zebras, but they were separated and I liked the two of them together better.

I was really happy to see photos that were so fun and different. Like Ed's flush and Rob's Full House.

I put Rosalie on first position because I loved how the two zebras sort of merged at the rear end. And I liked how that was reflected in the title: One Pair. And it's a very good image on its own.

I chose Ed's flush because I thought it was a great idea and fun. I laughed when I saw it. I had thought of shooting the kitchen drain but this was so much better than anything I could come up with for a flush that I had to look for something else to shoot.

I chose Rob's full house because again, I thought it was a great idea. Different and fun.

My own shot came about Sunday afternoon. I had something in mind that I couldn't pull off because of lack of time. So then I remembered an image I took years ago of Yahtzee, also a game that uses poker hands. I decided to reshoot that. I had in the past shot actual dice falling from a cup but this time I wanted a full house and needed the dice to show very specific numbers. So I just laid them down on a white surface with one on the edge of the cup so it was tilted a bit and shot them from above. Then edited the file in Photoshop and then took it to PhotoScape to add a preset that I thought looked good.

It was a really fun week. Good theme.
