Songs and pictures

Never heard of Neil's song. I know his hit Kentucky Woman, also covered interestingly by Deep Purple.
Funny and very nice pics of the flies. Now I remembered the Halo of flies song by Alice Cooper,,,:giggle:

Talking about the Eurovision Song Contest made me think of a song and picture for this thread!

This is a song by Anouk, Dutch singer and songwriter. Very famous here. She decided to represent The Netherlands in the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. The whole country fainted I think because this was so NOT her thing. But she said that we had been sending crap and she wanted to do a real song instead of all the crap (she's very straight forward, not afraid to speak her mind). And she did. She ended 9th. Which ended a long period of Eurovision misery for the Dutch. I think she should have won.

The song is called: Birds

It may need to grow on you a bit. I think it is beautiful.

Isolated from the outside
Clouds have taken all the light
I have no control
It seems my thoughts wonder all of the time
When I try to live life without you

Birds falling down the rooftops
Out of the sky like raindrops
No air, no pride

Come here baby
Ain't gonna do you no harm
I just want to shoot
Some rock'n'roll in your arm

Down to the doctors
Down to the doctors
Come on down to the doctors
Make you feel good all night

A classic British Rhythm 'n' Blues group full of energy.

I think I’ve posted this photo in the Cloud forum, but just thought of a good song to go with it.
Just wondering how many folks here are old enough to understand the line “tan legs checkered from a folding chair”

Get your party gown
Get your pigtail down
Get your heart beatin' baby
Got my timin' right
Got my act all tight
It's gotta be tonight my little
School babe
Your Mamma says you don't
Your Daddy says you won't
And I'm boilin' up inside
Ain't no way I'm gonna lose out this time, oh no
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Lock your daddy out of doors
I don't need him nosin' around
Tie your mother down
Tie your mother down
Give me all your love tonight

(there's a 30 seconds intro)

Driving in a fast lane
Counting mile marker signs
The empty seat beside me
Keeps you on my mind
Livin' in the heartache
Was never something I pursued
I can't keep on chasing
What I can't be for you

Oooh, skies are black and blue
Thinking about you
Here in the calm after the storm

...

This was in camera, but I did do a short gradient on the right edge to darken that part a little bit for this post. The centre where light and dark meet is SOOC. Shortly after, the rainbow appeared.
