Yes, Battery Todt fired its guns a little over a thousand times during World War II, primarily against Allied shipping in the English Channel. The battery was operational from January 20, 1942, to September 29, 1944, according to Liberation Route Europe. During that time, it engaged with one out of every five Channel convoys, firing an average of 29 rounds each time says Wikipedia.

Window in a small cruise ship (Le Bellot of the Ponant cruise line) below the water line. There was one window on each side of the ship towards the front of the ship. It's the Blue Eye Lounge and a bar is in the middle between both windows. Very cozy.
