Bit of an unusual bench. And with a plate so there's a story in it.
The plaque attached to the wooden back reads "This seat of which the large stone was the doorstep of the Drill Hall which stood on this site was a gift to the people of Nethy Bridge from Badenoch and District Council on its demise in April 1986."

The plaque attached to the stone is only partly legible. It seems to be in memory of someone "who trod on this threshhold step of the village hall when he enlisted in the forces 1914–18.”
