This is busy in a nice way. it looks like someone took pictures from the same place across time and merged the images into a cross-time composite.I took this shot in 2010. I'd been photographing birds for a year and had no idea how to do ships, but this was Sail2010 in Amsterdam. And the harbour is my backyard, so I had to go.
Shot with the 40D and the Tamron SP 17-50mm f/2.8. I remember this day. An overcast sky and chilly.

I see what you mean. Yes, the tall ships docked and the harbour full of boats, official ones and also just of people in their little boats and dingies and what not, so very busy and very hard to get a shot of a single ship. This shot really sums up how crowded it was on the water. Sail Amsterdam is once every 5 years and it's always a huge success. The one of 2020 was cancelled due to Covid, but it's on again in August this year. I'm looking forward to it.This is busy in a nice way. it looks like someone took pictures from the same place across time and merged the images into a cross-time composite.
I see vessels ranging from the age-of-sail to modern times. I look forward to your August pictures.I see what you mean. That's quite a bow wave it's pushing up.
I didn't know those riverboat cruises went inland to places like this. But it's really nice to see your and Bob's pics.I don't know if I said before, but I was on a riverboat cruise with AMA Waterways (NOT Viking) I formed the habit of taking photos for Virtual Tourist - restaurants, food, hotels, and shops in addition to attractions. The T3 photos are mine. The T5 photos are Bob's (my husband)

Ocean cruises stay mostly in big bodies of water. Riverboat cruises do the inland waterways. I've done one in the USA, and 3 in Europe - 2016 a Tulip cruise (Netherlands and Belgium),I didn't know those riverboat cruises went inland to places like this. No problem with the move-for some reason I thought that's where it wasOcean cruises stay mostly in big bodies of water. Riverboat cruises do the inland waterways. I've done one in the USA, and 3 in Europe - 2016 a Tulip cruise (Netherlands and Belgium),
