  1. Yes
Cycling is one of the sports where a lot of spectators are able to get some shots when the course comes nearby. I try to visit some races each year, mostly road races or cyclecross. Here is a thread to show photos of cycling.

To start the thread, what better race than the true classic Paris-Roubaix (and with the Dutch World Champion Mathieu van der Poel ;) ):

Paris-Roubaix. A true classic indeed. These shots are wonderful.
Thanks, it is great what one can shoot from the side of the road. Only pitty is that the angles and opportunities are bit limited when it is crowded with spectators.

That must be gruelling. Great photos though.
It is challenging indeed. It is on a closed circuit and the number of laps for the race is only determined after the first or second lap. They look at the laptimes for those laps and determine the total amount of laps for that specific race. As a guideline, for the male professionals they try to get to a race just under an hour. That is for a reason likely ;-)

So the riders' health is a concern in this sport. Interesting.

This is probably not what you guys were thinking of but it sort of fits. This was her first bike - age 7 in 1968

Well the second one is from a sports event (although it does not has 'speed' written all over it, but nobody set it should ;) ). And in the first one she is clearly racing and nobody said it needed to be official competive racing(y):D
