about 12 years ago (maybe more) someone had put some old pictures of my hometown on a city centric FB page. it started a conversation about 'didnt such and such business sit about where that photo was taken?' and more about what was in the neighborhood and so on and so forth.

i had some time off work i was killing so i walked down the main street of my home town (well most of it) shooting the buildings and businesses on the west side of the street ( i STILL need to do the east side of the street in the afternoon when the light is right) and i tried to get a couple pictures of each establishment. similar to these
