This is hair ice. It is a type of ice that grows in long bunched fibres from dead wood and is associated with the presence of the fungus Exidiopsis effusa. It has been quite common with us this year at temperatures around 0-3 °C.

Whoa. I can honestly say I have never seen that before. Didn't even know it existed. It looks amazing.
